Three bound sets of reprints of journal articles originally published in various medical and scientific journals. Hartmann and his students worked on the applications of biochemistry to pediatric disorders. Subjects are renal function and diseases, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and fluid and electrolyte disturbances. Many articles are from the Journal of Pediatrics, St. Louis, where he was on the editorial board.

Pediatrician and Educator, 1921-1964. Alexis F. Hartmann Sr. was a 1921 graduate of the Washington University Medical School. He was Professor (Asst., Associate & Full) of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine, 1925-1963 and Head of Dept of Pediatrics, 1936-1964. AFH was also Physician-In-Chief St. Louis Children's Hospital 1936-64. His areas of research were renal function and diseases, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and fluid and electrolyte disturbances....
